The main objectives of the piloting was to determine how to integrate digital curriculum contents (educational software) into the CICs and also the suitability of digital curriculum contents as a teaching and learning tool in the country’s basic education.
The project started with the installation of educational software at the CIC center and training of the CIC managers. Teachers from selected public schools and private schools in Mfantseman District were also trained on how to use the software as teaching and learning tool. The school children were given access to center to use the center to study under the supervision of their teachers and the CIC managers.
At the end of the pilot project, a launch was organized on the 2nd of July 2008 at the training and Course Unit, Saltpond to create awareness. In attendance to the launch were the district Chief Executive of Mfantseman District, the district director of education, chief of saltpond, representative of UNDP, GIFTEL and coordinator of GMIC, Also present were Head teachers, selected teachers and students from the various schools in the municipality.
It was determine that patronage to the center increased by 50% with introduction of educational software to the center. Students also turn up with their note books and pens to use the software to study. |

The teachers were impressed about how the software makes teaching easier especially with the use animations and colorful illustration to explain complex concepts.
They request to have the software in their various schools. Mr. Robert Quainoo-Arthur, Mfantseman Municipal Chief Executive, urged teachers of junior high schools in the municipality to patronize the software. |
